Dharana and demonstration by the Socialist Party activists against neo-liberal policies.







First list of candidates released on this occasion.

To oppose the neo-liberal onslaught on the Indian Constitution, society and culture, the socialist Party Uttar Pradesh organised a grand dharna and demonstration at ‘dharna sthal’ in Lucknow today. National leaders from 11 states, including Bhai Vaidya, National President, Panna Lal Surana, Chairman, Parliamentary Board, Dr. Prem Singh, National General Secretary Sandeep Pnadey, National Vice President, Dr. Sanmathnath Ghosh, member National Executive participated in the program. Party leaders and members from 15 districts of UP gathered on the occasion in a large number. Justice Rajinder Sachar addressed the gathering as the chief guest. Girish Pandey, President, U.P. Socialist Party, presided over and Onkar Singh, National General Secretary, Niraj Singh National Secretary, Socialist Yuvajan Sabha conducted the proceedings. Leaders from like-minded political parties also addressed the meeting. Dinkar kapur from All India Peoples Front, Tahira Hassan from C.P.I. (ML), K. K. Dixit from Viklang Party, I.D. Khajooria from Internationalist Democratic Party, Ram Kishore from Forward Block, Anmol from Aam Adami Party and advocate Mohammad Shoaib from Rihai Manch addressed the meeting and made an appeal to form an alternative front of the democratic, left and genuine secular parties for the coming General Election 2014.
Justice Sachar, speaking on the occasion, emphatically high light the plight of the muslim youths who are detained in jails on fabricated cases. He told the audience that he met the CM of UP in the morning in order to press the long pending demand of the Socialist Party for the release of such persons. Bhai Vaidya, President, argued that the mainstream politics of the country has surrendered before the neo-liberal dictate of WB, IMF, WTO, MNCs and corporate houses which must be replaced by the alternative politics based on the socialist doctrine and ideals of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, JP, Acharya Narendra Dev and other socialist stalwarts. Dr. Prem Singh said that the present day politics has abandoned the three basic guiding values pf the Constitution i.e. socialism, secularism and democracy. Socialist party is formed and committed to adhere to these values.    
The first list of the following candidates of the Socialist Party was released on this occasion by Panna Lal Surana. Girish Kumar Pandey (Rae Bareli), Onkar Singh (Shrawasti), Anil Mishra (Unnao), Shanker Singh (Kanpur), Harinam (Mishrikh), China Devi (Ballia), Chandrashekhar Azad (Gaziabad), Chaudhary Nekpal Yadav (Aonla), Gangesh Gupta (Amethi). Dinesh Singh (Faizabad) will contest as a Lok Rajniti Manch, supported by the Socialist Party.
