Joint Protest Rally Against Land
Acquisition Ordinance and Insurance Ordinance
The Socialist
Party (India), Lal Nishan Party (Leninist), the All India Insurance Employees
Association (Pune unit) and Lokayat have decided to organise a joint protest
rally against the recent ordinances, especially the Land Acquisition Ordinance
and the Insurance Ordinance, promulgated by the Modi government that reveal
completely its anti-people and undemocratic agenda. While thus implementing
policies that favour naked profiteering and transfer of public resources of our
country to foreign and Indian corporate houses, at the same time it has also
launched a brutal offensive to further reduce the already low subsidies given
to the people, including education and health subsidies.
We invite you
all to join us in this rally and make it a joint protest of all progressive
organisations. Do let us know if you would like to participate. If yes, then do
reply back or sms me, and we shall include the name of your organisation
in the press release and the pamphlet.
We talked
amongst each other and decided not to call a joint meeting of all progressive
organisations before finalising the program as that would delay the whole plan
of taking out the rally, as it is, the proposed date is a bit late. We hope you
do not mind us finalising the date amongst a few of us and then informing all
of you.
We have also
talked to Justice Kolse Patil, Anant Phadke and Abhay Shukla regarding this
plan, and they have all expressed their support. This email is being sent out
with their approval too.
The proposed
date and time for the protest rally are as below:
Date: January 10, Saturday
Time: 5.30 pm: Assembly at Senapati Bapat Putla, Alka Talkies Chowk, and we then
March from there to Tilak Putla, Mahatma Phule Mandai. We should reach Phule
Mandai at 7 pm.
7 - 8 pm: Public Meeting at Tilak Putla, Phule Mandai.
